Progress Tracking
Tracking progress is at the heart of Griply. Whether you’re working toward big goals or building small daily habits, Griply gives you multiple ways to see where you stand, reflect on your progress, and stay motivated over time.
You can track progress in three main places:
The Insights dashboard for a complete, big-picture view
The goal detail view for deep tracking of individual goals
The habit detail view for monitoring consistency and results
Insights Dashboard: Your Big-Picture View
The Insights dashboard gives you an overview of your progress across all goals and habits. It’s perfect for stepping back and seeing where you’re making progress and where you might need to refocus your efforts.
To open the dashboard:
Go to Insights in the sidebar.
Inside the dashboard, you’ll find:
Goal progress → shows completion percentages and tracked metrics
Habit statistics → shows success rates, total completions, and target progress
These insights are especially valuable for weekly, monthly, quarterly, and yearly reflections. They help you understand what’s working, adjust your priorities, and plan the next steps.
Switching Timeframes
At the top of the dashboard, you can switch between different timeframes to analyze your data:
W → This week
M → This month
Q → This quarter
Y → This year
4W → The last 4 weeks
12W → The last 12 weeks
12M → The last 12 months
These options let you zoom in for short-term insights or zoom out for long-term trends.
Hiding and Unhiding Insights
Want to keep your dashboard clean? You can hide goals or habits from the Insights dashboard without deleting them.
To hide a goal or habit:
On desktop → Right-click the goal or habit → Select Hide on Insights
On iOS → Long press the goal or habit → Tap Hide Insight
To show hidden insights again:
Click the filter icon at the top-right.
Enable Show hidden insights.
Right-click (desktop) or long-press (iOS) the goal or habit you want to bring back.
Select Unhide Insight.
Tracking Progress on Goals
Each goal in Griply has its own progress tracking. Open any goal detail view to see:
The goal’s main metric progress (e.g. money saved, kilometers run, clients called)
Individual subgoal progress charts if you’ve added measurable subgoals
Linked habits and their tracked progress directly inside the goal view
This makes it easy to see not just the big picture but also how smaller milestones and supporting habits are contributing to your overall goal.
To start tracking goal progress, you first need to add a goal metric when creating or editing a goal. See Creating & Planning Your First Goals for step-by-step instructions.
Tracking Progress on Habits
Habits have their own dedicated stats view, designed to help you stay consistent over time. For each habit, you can track:
Success rate: See what percentage of your scheduled habits you’ve completed
Total completions: See how many times you’ve done the habit
Target-based progress: If you’ve set a daily, weekly, monthly, or yearly target, you’ll see exactly how close you are to hitting it
Updating Your Progress
Griply automatically updates your progress when you check off habits or complete tasks, but you can also manually update metrics when needed.
For goals: Update tracked metrics either from the goal detail view or directly on the Insights dashboard using the Update button.
For habits: Mark habits as done from the habits overview or the Insights dashboard month view.
On iOS widgets: You can also update both goal and habit progress straight from your home screen.
For a complete guide, see Updating Your Progress.
