Spanish & German Support and Stability Updates
Last month, we focused on strengthening Griply — smoothing out the foundation so everyday use feels more reliable. We spent time on fixes, tighter behavior, and behind-the-scenes improvements. Alongside these stability and reliability improvements, we’ve also added support for Spanish and German, and introduced a more accurate way to log completion dates for overdue habits.

💬 Task Smart Recognition & Natural Language Input
27.01.2025 is now recognized as a valid date format.
The start date of a new repeat schedule is now set to the first time the schedule will occur, instead of Today.
6:30pm is now supported.
Russian characters are now supported.
Fixed overly aggressive due date matching when entering a word that contains part of a day (e.g., “monitor” / “mon”).

Tasks with overdue deadlines are now also shown on Today in the overdue section, even when the task isn’t scheduled for Today.

🔁 Habits & Repeating Tasks
Desktop: Repeating tasks now show the upcoming column with planned occurrences in the task dialog (previously only available for habits).
Desktop: Changing the duration of a habit inserted an occurrence for Today that couldn’t be deleted.
Desktop: Couldn’t select a habit icon when creating a new habit in the task dialog.
🗓️ Calendar
A habit that had future occurrences rescheduled was previously shown as disabled on Today’s calendar.
The calendar now also hides completed habits when “Show completed tasks” is disabled.
Added support for calendar events with special statuses like “focus time” or “out of office”.
Some calendars were not visible in the calendar settings menu.
Dragging an overdue habit on the calendar could cause it to disappear in some cases.
📊 Goals & Insights
Goal metric: When the start or target value is left empty, it’s now treated as 0.
Desktop: The Insights tab didn’t show all underlying subgoals, especially deeper-level ones.
Desktop: New subgoals were not always shown in the Insights tab.
Desktop: Sorting subgoals by deadline now sorts in ascending order.
Desktop: Couldn’t select the first option in the color or goal picker menus on the Mac or Windows app.
iOS: The Goal widget showed an incorrect percentage for goals with a target value lower than the start value.
iOS: Completed goals can now be shown on the roadmap.
iOS: Overdue goals didn’t show the chart past the original goal deadline.
iOS: Life area goal count now only includes main goals.
📱 iOS App & Widgets
iOS: Fixed long-press to skip, complete, or fail a habit.
iOS: The app icon badge count now also includes tasks with deadlines due Today.
iOS: Fixed being unable to paste text inside the task title or description.
iOS: Fixed the toolbar being hidden when accessing a life area from the habits list.
iOS: The medium habit widget didn’t show Saturday in some time zones.

Plan Your Habit in the Habit Dialog
This update lets you schedule habits directly from inside the habit dialog. In the new Upcoming tab, you can see your habit schedule at a glance without navigating to the calendar. This makes it easy to quickly reschedule, adjust specific time slots, or add an extra session — giving you more control over how habits fit into your week.

Habit Statistics: Clicking on a day in the statistics section could close the Habit Dialog. With this fix you can quickly complete habits in the calendar without closing the dialog.
Habit Statistics: When you changed your schedule, the completions from your previous schedule weren't taken into account when calculating your weekly progress.
The quick task entry dialog outside the app didn't handle app zoom levels.
'Turn main goal into subgoal' button didn't work.
Deleting a task in the inbox is quicker in inboxes with lots of tasks.
Drag a task from overdue to morning, afternoon, evening will automatically reschedule the task to Today.

Create Task Outside App
Quickly capture anything on your mind by pressing CTRL + SPACE. Add details that matter such as a description, subtasks, date, duration and more, with full access to every task property from outside the app. This means you can clear your head the moment an idea or to-do pops up, without breaking focus or losing momentum so nothing important slips through the cracks.
⚠️ Existing users need to download the new desktop app to get access to this feature.
