Inbox, Upcoming tasks and All tasks

Griply and your calendar now work in both directions, for tasks and for events. Your tasks and habits land on your Google or Outlook calendar as real time blocks, and the meetings already sitting on that calendar show up inside Griply, where you can edit them, add guests, or RSVP. Move something on either side and the other one follows.

Features

  • Two-way calendar sync (Beta): Block time for your Griply tasks and habits straight on your Google or Outlook calendar, and move them around there without your plan falling out of sync.

  • Edit calendar events inside Griply (Beta): Reschedule a meeting, add guests from your contacts, or spin up a Google Meet link without leaving the screen where you plan your day.

  • Respond to calendar invitations (Beta): Answer meeting invites with "Yes", "No", or "Maybe" from the same screen where you plan your day instead of switching to Google or Outlook to RSVP.

  • Default reminders: Set once how far ahead you want to be reminded and every task and habit follows it, instead of setting a reminder by hand on each one. Settings > Notifications has two dropdowns for it, "Time-bound tasks" and "All-day tasks".

  • Several reminders on one task: Ask to be reminded 2 hours and 30 minutes before a task starts, and the reminders move along whenever you reschedule it. You can put as many reminders on a task or habit as you want now, each one either relative to the start time or at a fixed clock time. Fixed clock times behave exactly as before and still work alongside relative ones on the same task.

  • Reminder shorthand while you type (Desktop): Add reminders as you write a task by dropping !10m or !1h30m into its name. Several ! tokens in one name create several reminders, all relative to the start time.

  • Focus blocks: Block out an hour for a Smart List or a tag, then click the block to jump straight to the work it covers. Smart Lists and tags are new as targets: goals and life areas could already be blocked out, and those blocks are now called focus blocks.

Improvements

  • Filter for tasks with or without a duration: Pull up every task you never gave a time estimate, or only the ones you did, by filtering on "No duration" or "Has duration".

  • Pick what a calendar drag creates: Drag a slot on your calendar and pick what lands there, whether that's a task, a calendar event, or a focus block. Dragging used to go straight to task create, so on Desktop you can hold Alt while dragging to skip the menu, or press 1 to 5 to pick an option. On iOS the menu always shows.

  • Completed tasks drop to the bottom of the all-day section: See what's still open at a glance in the calendar's all-day section, now that completed tasks move to the bottom of it.

  • Turn off the completion sound (iOS): Complete tasks without the sound by switching off the new "Sound" setting under Account > Preferences.

  • Search your Trash: Find one deleted task in a full Trash by typing its name into the search bar at the top of the screen.

  • Goal progress is kept on completion: See how far a goal actually got when you complete it, because Griply keeps its real progress percentage instead of rounding up to 100%. A goal completed at 72% reads 72% everywhere now.

  • Duplicate a focus block (Desktop): Block the same hour for the same goal again by right-clicking a focus block and choosing "Duplicate".

Fixes

  • Desktop + iOS: Fixed a bug where some habits didn't show a checkbox on the calendar on the day they were due.

  • Desktop + iOS: Fixed a bug where some habits showed progress for a week on the calendar without any completion behind it.

  • Desktop + iOS: Fixed a bug where the "Show/hide habits" setting on the Completed page reset every time the screen was opened again.

  • Desktop: Fixed a bug where the quick add window ignored your language setting and only recognized English date words like "Today" and "Tomorrow".

  • Desktop: Fixed a bug where dragging a task out of the calendar's all-day section always gave it a 30 minute duration instead of the duration already set on the task.

  • Desktop: Fixed a bug where the search field wasn't focused when opening the tag or goal popup with T or G on multiple selected tasks, so you had to click it before typing.

  • iOS: Fixed a bug where changing a habit's icon left you on a blank screen.
