Set Up Your Life Areas

Learn how to set up life areas in Griply to organise your goals, habits, and tasks in a way that reflects the different parts of your life. Life areas represent the major themes that make up your world (like work, health, relationships, learning, and more) so you can plan with balance and intention, not just around work.

Why life areas matter

Life areas are the foundation of Griply’s structure. They help you:

  • Zoom out from the daily grind and see the bigger picture of your life.

  • Think big about where you want to go in each area.

  • Set meaningful goals for each part of your life.

  • Organize your actions so you can clearly see where your time and effort are going.

Work & Career

  • Vision: Lead a team that creates meaningful, impactful products.

  • Goal: Launch new marketing website

    • Subgoal: Finalize design with the agency

    • Tasks: Send feedback on homepage layout, approve final copy

  • Goal: Get promoted to VP

    • Habits: Weekly 1:1 with mentor, read industry articles daily

  • Standalone tasks: Book conference tickets, meet with Alex

The default life areas

During onboarding, you’ll see a set of suggested life areas:

  • Work & Career

  • Sport & Health

  • Money & Finance

  • Personal Development

  • Fun & Relaxation

  • Education & Learning

  • Family & Friends

  • Love & Relationships

  • Spirituality

You can deselect any that don’t fit. Later, you can rename, archive, or reorder them.

Custom life areas (Premium)

If you want to personalize Griply even more, you can create your own life areas:

  • Hobbies

  • Side Hustle

  • Daily Life Planning

  • Community & Identity

  • Parenthood

  • Travel

You can change the name, icon, and color for each life area so it feels personal to you. Learn more: Life Areas.

Life areas evolve

Your priorities will change over time and so should your life areas. Big life events like moving abroad, becoming a parent, or starting a new career might mean adding, merging, or retiring certain areas. Don’t be afraid to adjust as you grow.
