Install the Griply Widget on Android
Griply's Today widget puts your tasks and habits for today on your home screen, so you can tick things off without opening the app. It's free on every plan.
How to add the widget
Press and hold an empty spot on your home screen.
Tap Widgets.
Find Griply in the list. On most phones you can search for it.
Press and hold the Today widget and drag it onto your home screen. On some phones you tap it and choose Add instead.
To make it bigger or smaller, press and hold the widget and drag the handles.
The exact steps differ a bit per phone brand (Pixel, Samsung, OnePlus, and so on), but they all start with a long press on the home screen.
The Today widget
Your tasks and habits for today.
Tap a task's checkbox to complete it without opening Griply.
Tap a habit's checkbox to complete it. If the habit has a daily target, the widget shows how far along you are, and each tap logs one more.
Tap anywhere else to open Griply.
Nothing to configure. It always shows today.
When the widget looks out of date
Android decides when to refresh widgets, based on its own battery and activity rules. Griply can't force it, and there's no refresh setting to change.
If the widget looks stale, open and close Griply once. That prompts Android to rebuild it.
If it keeps happening, check that battery optimization isn't holding Griply back: go to Settings → Apps → Griply → Battery and set it to Unrestricted.
Note: The widget shows your day. To add a task from anywhere on your phone, use the Add Task tile in Quick Settings, or share a link or a piece of text to Griply from any app's share menu.
